CIARA LEWIS
I am an Irish painter, very happily settled on the Welsh/Shropshire borders which I love. I joined Abstract Edge to share with other diverse and wonderful artists the joys and frustrations of working on the peripherals of abstraction. My work tends to grow from drawings, notes and my very bad photos of land, sea or cities I have visited, using the structures of buildings or land masses as my inspiration and starting points.
I usually mix media with wild abandon and like to end up with layers of lush colour dense with textures. I work on many surfaces, mainly canvas, board and papers.
I like to travel and then work from what have has “stuck” as a memory. I welcome visitors by appointment, (often with cake!) to my studio in The Old School, West Street, Knighton, LD7 1EN when you can browse finished pieces from different collections of work and of course work in progress.
